Secret Superstar Beats PK At The Overseas Box Office; Aamir Khan Surpasses Himself

In China the movie has collected USD $ 52.66 million in just under a week which is a huge achievement in itself. But there is something more than that. Including the pre-China collections of overseas (USD $ 11 million) the movie now stands at the grand total of USD $ 52.66 million in overseas.

Aamir Khan’s PK which was released in 2017 in China had collected USD $ 47.2 million in overseas during its lifetime. Secret Superstar with the backing of monumental collections of China has crossed the overseas collections of PK. Crossing PK is double-the-special for two reasons – Aamir Khan has surpassed himself in the list and PK was a super-successful in India.
Secret Superstar also did exceedingly well for its tight budget in India. But overseas has totally changed the game for the film. Crossing a film like PK is no fun-game for any movie.

At recently held 63rd Jio Filmfare Awards, Meher Vij won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) for Secret Superstar. Actress Zaira Wasim won the Critics’ Award for Best Actor (Female) for the same film.
In Secret Superstar, Zaira, who hails from Kashmir, plays a teenage girl named Insia who dreams of becoming a singer. The film is about how she fulfils her dreams by keeping her identity hidden.
Zaira, who turned 17 recently, is overwhelmed with all the positive response coming her way for her second film. She made her debut with Dangal.
